So apparently we lost two legends last week…James Earl Jones and Willie Nelson. What an awful tragedy it is — that people think it’s interesting to spread such rumous. One of the most ridiculous online trends in recent years has been the proliferation of celebrity death hoaxes. Just this week it was announced that country legend Willie Nelson had passed away
in his home in Hawaii by the fake news site MSMBC.com – so clever – luckily the rumours didn’t spread too far. These things have become so prevalent that celebs like Willie aren’t even responding to them, although this little gem did appear on his Twitter this week…
Another deathly rumour this week was of James Earl Jones, that booming voice behind Darth Vader in Star Wars
and Mufasa in The Lion King
. This one was generated by “Feednewz.com”, which apparently allows users to create fake Facebook posts – why is this a thing?
Thankfully Jones and Nelson are alive and well. Though they’re not the only celebs that have been victims of this unnecessary trend. Check out the others on the celebrity resurrection list.
