Celebrity friendships are a natural occurrence in the Hollywood wilderness. But, there are some that have taken ‘BFF’ to the next level, like the one between Paris Hilton and Cheyenne Tozzi
we reported just this February. We love to acknowledge these kinds of positive vibes, so in that spirit, here are just a few more famously friendly pairs.
Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss
These two have been taring up a friendship storm! Karlie Kloss, ranked one of the “New Supers” according to models.com, has been seen touting around town hand in hand with Taylor Swift for years now. The two have been very public about their budding friendship, sharing lots of pics via Twitter and Instagram. They’ve even been supporting one another on the job with Swift hitting Kloss’ runway and Kloss promoting Swift’s new albums. The pair meet onstage at the 2013 Victoria Secret Angels show where Swift performed with Fall Out Boy. The ‘Shake It Off” singer commemorated the magic moment
with a blown-up and framed Polaroid picture from the event, labelled, “BEST FRIENDS FOREVER VS2013”.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler
Famous comediennes, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, have been good friends for twenty years. The two met at Chicago’s ‘ImprovOlympic’, where Poehler said of her future bestie, “Her name was Tina and she was like me but with brown hair.” As we all know, both actresses went onto achieve enormous success, working together on Saturday Night Live
, and then going their own ways to produce, write and star in the critically acclaimed series, 30 Rock
(Fey) and Parks and Recreation
(Poehler). Thankfully for us, and millions of viewers, they came together again in recent years to host the past three Golden Globes
Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen
Amidst fierce competition, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen may win for most adorable BFFs on this list. Stewart and McKellen are both classically trained, Shakespearean actors and have known each other for many years. And yet, they took their friendship and pop culture icon status up a notch in 2014 while they co-starred in the plays Waiting for Godot
and No Mans Land
in New York City. They documented their growing adoration for one another via social media, sharing pictures of their adventures all over Manhattan, eating hot dogs on Coney Island, sitting on Santa’s lap and, yes, posing in matching bowler hats atop the Empire State Building.
Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts
Australian born actresses, Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts, have been holding down the best friends game even longer than Amy and Tina, meeting in high school and then co-starring in the 1991 movie, Flirting
. Kidman told the Telegraph in 2005
that, “Naomi Watts and I are very, very good friends and have maintained that through so many things. I think that’s really rare, particularly for actresses, and I take a lot of pride in that.” We’re proud of you too Nicole!
Making and maintaining friendships is hard for all of us. It’s so rare to find people that you can really connect with, that like the same weird, stupid stuff you like and that you know in your bones you can trust. With lives that, while extraordinary, must at times make it even more difficult to find those people, it’s nice to hear a little bit about the ones that do.
