Are you ready to slam your body down and wind it all around
, ladies and gentlemen?!
Rumours are in full force that a Spice Girls reunion tour is in the works, which will give fans another chance to catch everyone’s favourite feminist force of the late 90s on the big stage (we’ve been screaming uncontrollably for the last 24 hours!
British publication, The Sun
, reported earlier that four of the Girls – Victoria Beckham is allegedly not joining in on the fun – will be lacing up their platform sneakers and getting into girl power mode sometime in 2016 for an international tour.
Last week, Mel B (our favourite Spice) told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show
that “it’s about time” for the ladies to become one
all over again!
While visiting the Today Show
a few days later, B was all up on recruiting her former girl pack for another go at world domination via mind blowing arena shows and ultimate commemorative merch – our fingers are crossed for more of that sweet Hubba Bubba gum wrapped in a Spice Girls sticker, as well as limited edition Chupa Chups lollipops.
“When you say it’s our 20th
anniversary coming up, it does make you think, ‘Oh, my gosh, it really has been that long’,” she said. “Hopefully, we’ll gather the troops around, and we’ll get to do something to celebrate it next year. It’s in my plan, I don’t know about anybody else’s.”
Word of a life changing reunion made its way across the pond to Emma Bunton – aka Baby Spice – who, on her Heart FM radio morning show, said she’d be the first to let fans know about the G Force bringing it back to spice up our lives
In response to all the buzz from her former band mates, the ever-so-sporty Mel C tweeted, “Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!!”
Bunton replied to Sporty’s tweet, “Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?”
Yes! Yes!! YES!!!
Let’s get real, people – what have the Spice Girls really
been doing since they rocked our world in 1996 with Union Jack dresses, tongue piercings and Asian character tattoos?!
Aside from the antics they’ve been involved in as a collective, which includes the group’s 2007-08 reunion tour and its failed 2012 musical, Viva Forever
, it’s been a whole lotta nothing. At least nothing that gives us the uncontrollable teen girl feels in the same way as seeing them together on stage, belting out those epic pop anthems in between legendary costume changes that make us wish they would make us an honorary sixth member.
Keep coming back, readers! Your friends at The Hollywood Mag
will be the first to let you know if a reunion show will happen.
