New Girl renewed for 5th season: top five things to look forward to

New Girl

Zooey Deschanel will continue to delight fans for a fifth season of the hit Fox series, New Girl. The show’s producers had jumped the gun even before confirmation from Fox as production on season 5 has already begun in preparation of Deschanel’s maternity leave. The beauty in bangs announced in January that she is expecting her first child with fiancé and Hollywood producer, Jacob Pechenik. We can’t blame them for being optimistic as the show continues to build a devoted fan base and even garnered a 100% critics rating on the Tomatometer for the season 4 on Rotten Tomatoes. Our own optimism prompted us to look into the future as well as we created a list of the top five things to look forward to about New Girl season 5: 1.  Extended special guest stars like John Cho and Taran Killam. Perhaps to soften the blow of losing Damon Wayans Jr. (yet again), it’s been confirmed that the show will bring back Saturday Night Live’s Taran Killam and introduce Selfie actor John Cho, as a love interest for Jess. 2.  The continued spawning of New Girl Pinterests. What is this – prison?” How do you feel about the New Girl news? Is it time to put on your favourite ‘party Jess dress’ and celebrate? Or have you had enough manic pixie dream girl in your primetime already?

With her childhood spent navigating the cliffs of St. John’s, NL, Jessie now find herself forging into adulthood, risking life and limbs between streetcar tracks and pedestrians in downtown Toronto. In between she's seen the good, bad and the straight up awesome in London, Paris, New York, Rome, and Barcelona. She's learned the classics and contemporaries of English Lit at Memorial University. Perhaps more importantly, she's learned early on how to open her ears for a juicy piece of gossip from the streets of her hometown and today she brings these valuable skills to you through the pages of
