Helen Mirren showed off her comedic skills on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
last night. Fallon got the star of The Queen
to inhale from a helium-filled balloon and she gave a high-pitched rendition of her 2006 Oscars acceptance speech.
The pair were giggling like schoolgirls even before the first crack at a balloon, making fart jokes and being straight-up silly, check it out here
Fallon continues to charm the pants off stars and audiences alike, as he slides into his 14th
month as host of The Tonight Show
Looks like we’re in the clear from his predecessor, Jay Leno, from making another comeback as Fallon settles in for a satisfying reign. In honour of his current success, here a few of our favourite moments from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Ew! with Seth Rogen and Zac Efron
These segments are awesome and have featured some big names, including Taylor Swift and First Lady Michelle Obama. But, our fav so far is the one with Seth Rogen and Zac Efron. Fallon’s closed-eye selfie is perfection.
Kevin Bacon’s Footloose reboot
When Kevin Bacon dropped by The Tonight Show
back in March 2014, Fallon announced that dancing had been outlawed at the show, leading into Bacon’s epic Footloose
revival. Was anyone else turned on by this? Seriously, Kevin Bacon has still got it!
Neil Young/ Fallon rendition of ‘Old Man’
Fallon brought his duet’s segment to the next level in this heartfelt moment with a young Fallon and an old Young singing ‘Old Man’. For real, props to Fallon on this performance.
Christina Aguilera’s lip sync battle
Another great bit, the “Wheel of Musical Impressions” has shown us some magical moments of stars impersonating their famous peers. The best of the bunch is Christina Aguilera’s spot on version of Britney Spears.
Debut episode’s $100 bet payback
Fallon kicked it off right with his debut appearance as host of The Tonight Show
back in February 2014. To mark the occasion, the freshman host collected all the $100 bets made against him, saying he’d never make it to the Tonight Show
chair. Stars getting against him included Joan Rivers, Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan. Stephen Colbert capped off the event by dumping $100 in pennies all over Fallon and his desk before snapping a selfie and yelling, “Welcome to 11:30, bitch!”
Well done Jimmy, well done.
