Everything you need to know about this year’s Streamy Awards!

This year’s awards ceremony, which celebrates 2015’s best and brightest YouTube and online video content and creators, will be aired for the first time on national TV. VH1 will be airing the fifth installment of the awards show, and it’s slated to be hosted by globally adored YouTube personalities, Tyler Oakley and Grace Helbig, next month in Hollywood. gif2 “I’m so excited to be co-hosting this year’s Streamy Awards alongside my buddy Grace,” said Oakley, who has over 20 million followers on social media. “I am so proud to be part of such a wonderful night celebrating the talents and accomplishments of online creators and #TeamInternet as a whole.” If you don’t spend hours getting lost in the ibis of YouTube like the rest of the world, it’s worth your while to check out the respective channels of Oakley, 26, and Helbig, 29, which have granted them both serious pull on the World Wide Web. grace tyler Helbig’s Channel, “It’s Grace”, has over 2.6 million subscribers and has provided her with epic opportunities, including writing and hosting The Grace Helbig Show on E!, as well as co-producing and starring in YouTube’s first feature-length flick, Camp Takota. She’s also penned a bestseller, “Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending to Be a Grown-up.” Oakley has over 20 million social media followers and is the most well-known LGBT personality on YouTube. This guy is so good at branding his online image that he recently gave advice to the Obama Administration on social-media strategy. Oakley also penned a book called “Binge,” which is a collection of personal essays with a comical twist. Nominees for this year’s show include Jenna Marbles and Miranda Sings in the Comedy Category; Helbig and Oakley in the First Person category; Furious Pete for Health and Wellness; and James Franco and James Van Der Beek for their work in Making a Scene with James Franco and Adi Shankar’s Bootleg Universe, respectively. The Streamy Awards airs at 10pm ET on September 17.
